WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue students bared nearly everything in order for a good cause.

Approximately 225 people braved the chilly weather Thursday at the sixth-annual Nearly Naked mile.

Clothing donations were accepted for Lafayette Transitional Housing.

Despite this year being the coldest in event's history, it didn't stop some dedicated runners from stripping down to their underwear or dressing up for the costume contest.

"It's a little cold, but we came prepared. We have our jackets, so hopefully we will make it to the end of the mile without freezing," said Purdue senior Katie McCallin.

"We have actually been on Purdue Alumni Student Experience for the last four years. As seniors in pharmacy, this is our chance to actually run the event. The clothing that benefits Transitional Housing is a really a great cause and everybody has fun," said Jake Mattox.

Organizers from the Purdue Alumni Student Experience or PASE say that more than 400 pounds of clothing were donated from Thursday's event.
