Stretch of US 231 closing until October

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is closing a portion of U.S. 231 starting Monday, August 6.

Crews will be replacing several structures along the stretch of U.S. 231 between U.S. 24 and I-65 south of Wolcott.

U.S. 231 will reopen in early October, weather permitting.

Local traffic will have access, but through traffic will be detoured.

Southbound traffic will travel north on U.S. 231, south of Wolcott, west on U.S. 24, south on I-65, and back to U.S. 231.

Northbound traffic will travel north on I-65, east on U.S. 24, and back to U.S. 231.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
