CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - The storm that started out as rain has changed over to some snow, bringing with it very strong winds. The snow in many areas is less than one inch, however, that doesn't mean the weather isn't creating hazardous road conditions.

Several reports of slide-offs and accidents have been reported Thursday night into Friday morning all over the Greater Lafayette area. Drivers are urged to exercise caution. Authorities advise you to leave extra time to get to your destination Friday morning.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office sent out an alert via Nixle early Friday morning, warning of hazardous road conditions.

Thursday evening, high winds are being blamed for overturning a semi on I-65, creating slow and stopped traffic in Clinton County.

As of 4 a.m. Friday morning, State Road 29 in Carroll County was closed until further notice. The closing spans from the Cass-Carroll county line to the Clinton-Carroll county line.

According to Carroll County dispatch, several power lines are down due to traffic accidents.
