LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette soup kitchen is gearing up to feed 1,500 families this holiday season.
The St. Matthew Soup Kitchen, located on Wabash Avenue, is still taking ham and turkey donations for those struggling financially.
Soup kitchen Manager Cheryl Rayburn said if you would like to give a turkey or a ham, now is the time to do it.
"We still are in need of turkeys and hams. If anybody would like to bring a turkey or a ham down to the soup kitchen, we would be happy to take it off your hands," said Rayburn.
St. Matthew soup kitchen will be handing out holiday meals from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, or until they reach 1,500 meals distributed. They are attached to St. Ann church at 612 Wabash Avenue in Lafayette.
