Snowsey brings new faces to Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Friends of Downtown in Lafayette held the first ever Snowsey Down Main Street festival.

Videojournalist Jamie Long shows us that no matter what the season, people are willing to check out what Lafayette's downtown has to offer.

"I just came up with the name 'Snowsey Down Main Street' and people said it was a great idea.  In the winter time, people just go to the mall because it's warmer and there's plenty of parking.  We just wanted to bring people down here to highlight the restaurants and a lot of new shops that have come in town since just since the summer," said Friends of Downtown president Ken McCammon.

"Ken came in said that they were going to do a Snowsey, and I said I'd participate. Bands perform here all the time so I was really excited about it. It's fantastic. Today, I've already booked two birthday parties and we've got about 50 people out front which is really great. This is just a taste of what downtown has. We have this all the time, so I'm glad Friends of Downtown are promoting it and bringing people down. From hilltop to hilltop, there's always something going on," said LaLa art gallery owner Angel Vinson.
