Lafayette, Ind. (WLFI) - Services members, active and retired, stood this Fourth of July at the corner of Creasy lane and state road 26 to raise money for Soldiers Angels.
The group Soldiers Angels collects comfort items for those soldiers recovering in hospitals abroad.
Former Marine Mark Dolfini began his stand at the stroke of midnight on July 4 and will continue to stand for 24 hours.
"The people love our troops and they love our country and it's just amazing to see them come up and they want to know how they can help and how more than can help," said Dolfini.
Donations are still being accepted and can be dropped off at the June Palms leasing office.
