WEST LAFAYETTE (WLFI) - Two senior citizens got to take the ride of their 101 year-old lives. Eva Goble and Sid Sorenson took their first-ever hot air balloon rides at the University Place senior living community Wednesday.
Goble said she has always wanted to ride in a balloon, but never had the chance. The balloon was tethered to the ground and rose about 100 feet above northern West Lafayette. Goble said it's a fun way to see the world.
"I could see all of the golf course and the little kids that popped out of their cars to watch. It's interesting from the standpoint of getting a view of your landscape from a different angle," said Goble.
"It was fun. I've never been up so high in all my life. I was a little nervous, but not much," said Sorensen
Since Goble and Sorensen are the oldest residents. They got to go first. After their ride, any other residents who wanted to ride got the chance.
