RENSSELAER, Ind. (WLFI) - Saint Joseph's College has been named a best college in the Midwest and a top 10 value college in Midwest in the 2012 edition/September 2011 issue of U.S. News and World Report.
"To be named one of the best colleges in the Midwest and the ninth best value colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News Media Group is an achievement of which the entire Saint Joseph's College community should be proud," said President Dr. F. Dennis Riegelnegg. "The excellence and affordability of our education is the result of a tremendous work ethic possessed by our students, faculty, and staff, and it's wonderful to see that dedication and discipline recognized."
This is the second year in a row St. Joe has been named a "Top Ten Value College in the Midwest."
More than 1,400 schools nationwide were included in the rankings. The rankings compare accredited schools in various categories.
The 2012 "Best Colleges" takes a look at how these schools compare on 16 widely accepted indicators of excellence: peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and, for national universities and national liberal arts colleges, graduation rate performance and high school counselor ratings of colleges.
St. Joseph's College is a four-year, Catholic college which offers 26 majors, four group majors, 28 minors and nine pre-professional programs. St. Joe is located in Rensselaer, Indiana.
