Riverside Skating Center delays opening

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The warm weather spell has pushed back opening day for a local business.

The Riverside Skating Center will delay opening for another few days because of warm temperatures.

Originally the skating center was scheduled to open last week but was delayed until Friday night. Those plans have now changed.

Now it's just up to Mother Nature to when the ice rink can open.

"It's soft, there's actually standing water, we lost the edges last night and came in and had to make slush and have patches made," Riverside Skating Center manager Sue Mattern said. "It doesn't help the strength of the ice or the solidness of the ice."

If the weather cooperates .. the skating rink should be open sometime next week.
