WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Remington husband and wife are dead after a crash in White County Saturday morning.

According to the White County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened at the intersection of State Road 18 and U.S. 231, around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Police said 58-year-old Ronald Lewis and 60-year-old Rita Lewis, of Remington, were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, 33-year-old Courtney Hunley, of Lafayette, was eastbound on State Road 18 in a black Audi Q5, when she failed to yield the right of way to a Silver Dodge Avenger, driven by Ronald Lewis. Hunley's car struck the passenger's side of the Avenger, which was southbound on 231.

Hunley and her passenger, 29-year-old Tyra Erb, of Francesville, were treated for injuries at Franciscan Saint Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.

It's unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, and toxicology results are pending. Police said the crash is still under investigation.
