TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - UPDATE: Hatfield is no longer affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Shook Agency

An agent with Coldwell Banker Shook Agency was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Tippecanoe County Assessors Office.

Tippecanoe County Asessor Samantha Steele said over $2.6 million in sales were made by Realtor Brenda Hatfield on December 30 of last year, and the investigation is ongoing.

Hatfield is on administrative leave from the Coldwell Banker Shook Agency.

Company president Charlie Shook said Hatfield told him she is being investigated by the Tippecanoe County Assessor and Tippecanoe County Sheriff.

Shook said the investigation involves property, but not property represented by Coldwell Banker Shook.

Charlie Shook also tells us Hatfield's license with the company has been revoked pending this investigation. Employee Lu Ann Heitert clarified that this does not mean Hatfield's license has been revoked. Hatfield continues to hold her license as an independent contractor, but it is no longer associated with Coldwell Banker Shook.

Tippecanoe County Sheriff Tracy Brown says he can't comment on the situation because the investigation is in its early stages.

Though little official information about the investigation has been published, the Journal & Courier reported in its March 7 property sales report that over 20 sales disclosure forms were filed for December 30, 2009 which listed Greg and Brenda Hatfield as the sellers. By comparison, only six forms were filed for December 29, listing a variety of buyers and sellers.
