TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - More than three million cases of child abuse and neglect are reported every year in the United States, and each state’s Department of Child Services (DCS) must handle them. But who is watching over DCS?

This February, WLFI is taking a magnifying glass to Indiana’s Department of Child Services – and getting a closer look at the ins and outs of the system.

From a local case last year of a child being left alone in an empty apartment, to how the state deals with public frustration with DCS, News 18’s Liz Nichols will give you a guided tour of the system.
