Police use stun gun on man after a meth lab is discovered

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Police used a stun gun to control a man after they located an active methamphetamine lab inside of a Frankfort home.

Frankfort police said they received a call around 9:30 Saturday night in regard to a strong chemical odor coming from a house. The home is located at 560 1/2 Washington Avenue. Officers said 27-year-old Shawn Isenberg answered the door when they knocked, and allowed police to enter the home.

Once inside, police said they found an active meth lab in a bedroom. There were six people inside the home at the time. Along with Shawn Isenberg, 22-year-old Jonathan Worth, 25-year-old Allen Isenberg, 25-year-old Rodney Smith, 26-year-old James Taylor, and 27-year-old Ryan Musante were all arrested.

While outside the home, Taylor did try to fight police. In order to control him, police did have to use a stun gun.

“Anytime someone resists the police, it can potentially be dangerous for the suspect and the officers involved," said Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon. "The situation quickly became very tense, developed rapidly, and was very uncertain based on the amount of people present, the volatile chemicals near by, and the behavior displayed by the suspect."

All six men are being held at the Clinton County Jail.

Allen Isenberg, Worth, Smith and Musante all face preliminary charges of visiting a common nuisance.
 
Taylor faces preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement and visiting a common nuisance.
 
Shawn Isenberg faces preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.

Frankfort police said the investigation is ongoing.
