Police: students help chase down suspect

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - An attempted robbery on the Purdue University campus ends with the suspect in the hospital.

It all happened shortly after 2:00 p.m Wednesday in Krannert Hall at Purdue University.

Police sais 50-year-old  James Anthony Parker had broken into an office and was trying to steal valuables but was caught in the act.
    
Several witnesses including students chased Parker out of the building.

Officers arrested him near the intersection of State and Grant streets.

Police said Parker complained of chest pains and was taken to the hospital.
    
He has since been released and has been booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail on preliminary charges of burglary and attempted theft.
