ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) - The Attica Police Merit Board met for the first time after the chief resigned last week.

Chief Bobby Bass turned in his badge after refusing to take a five-day pay cut. The pay cut was Mayor Bob Shepard's way of punishing Bass for giving people duck jerky or dog treats while in uniform.

The incident was not brought during this evening's meeting. Members said because Bass resigned without an appeal, the issue is out of their hands.

The floor was opened for public comment, but nobody spoke.
