LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Lafayette Police Department has identified one man in connection with Saturday night's police chase, which began in Lafayette, and ended with a car crash in Brookston.
Lafayette Police Lieutenant Timothy Payne said the department has identified the driver of the car as 20-year-old Corey Joseph Kirts of Lafayette.
Kirts was airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis. Police said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
According to police, the mugshot provided of Kirts is from a previous incident.
Police said Kirts faces preliminary charges of Residential Burglary, a Class B Felony, and Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class D Felony.
