LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A man is behind bars after police said he robbed a gas station Sunday afternoon.
The Lafayette Police Department received a call around 4:30 Sunday afternoon of a robbery that occurred at the Marathon Gas Station on Teal Road in Lafayette.
The suspect was described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black coat and jeans. Witnesses told police they saw the suspect running north from the gas station.
LPD officers quickly established a perimeter of the area, and within three minutes, were able to spot the suspect running in an open field.
According to police, the suspect, 29-year-old Brandon Martin of Lafayette, was detained at gunpoint and taken into custody.
Evidence gathered at the scene and route of travel, linked Martin to the incident. Police said there were no injuries reported during this incident.
