Plane crashes into homes near airport

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) -  A small plane crashed into at least two homes southeast of the South Bend Regional Airport Sunday afternoon.

WSBT-TV reports at least three people have been injured and taken to local hospitals. Authorities are working to shut off gas in the neighborhood as there is possibly a gas leak.

The neighborhood is evacuating.

WSBT reporters on scene said the jet is upside down on top of one home.
