WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Nearly 200 P.E. and Health teachers from across the state were in town Friday for a special event.
The Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance hosted a conference at Purdue.
The organization hopes to educate teachers on a number of subjects including new teaching evaluations and how to use technology in gym class.
"Physical education is one of the most important things in the state because of our obesity rate and we just want our kids to get out and get active. If we can get our teachers active it will go down to our children," commented Karen Hatch, Executive Director.
Teachers in attendance received a special credit for their license.
