LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Old Romney Road in Lafayette will undergo some major changes next year.
An extensive amount work will be done in three phases, including Twyckenham Blvd.
The city engineer's office looks to expand the area to four lanes, install a roundabout, side walks and biking trails, in addition to new lighting.
City officials said the changes are much needed.
“I think the round about will make it safer and it will give us ansthetic value there and make it a more desireable place for people to live,” said Lafayette mayor, Tony Roswarski.
The project is estimated at over 500,000 dollars.
Officials are hoping to have designs completed by the end of this year with construction to begin next year.
