SHADELAND, Ind. (WLFI) - An oil spill closed a Tippecanoe County road Friday afternoon.
The Shadeland Fire Department was dispatched to County Road 375 West off of State Road 25 South, just past Shadeland.
Firefighters said the spill happened around 3:30 p.m. when a sprayer belonging to Ceres Solutions in West Point had a broken hydraulic line.
The sprayer spilled about 15 gallons of oil over the course of half a mile.
Ceres Solutions brought a substance to absorb the oil then vacuum it up.
The road re-opened about two hours later.
