TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A new youth center in Tippecanoe County is looking to provide an after school alternative for at-risk youth.

The Tippecanoe Youth Center, located on County Road 250 North, opened last week.

Plans are in the works for a computer center, open gym, and transportation for youngsters to and from area high schools and apartment complexes.

After school programs are set to begin October 29th and will continue through the school year.

Organizers hope the facility provides a positive impact for the community.

"Our youth become more well-rounded as they venture past high school and go into college or whatever their future endeavors are,” Tippecanoe Youth Center representative Dushaun Goings said.
