New location, new menu coming for Mad Mushroom

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A new location for a local eatery is bringing a new menu with it.

Mad Mushroom has moved into the old Boiler Market space at the corner of State and Pierce streets in West Lafayette.

For the last two decades, it had been a mainstay at the strip mall at 720 Northwestern Avenue. Back in July, West Lafayette city leaders approved a new five-story development at that location

But Mad Mushroom co-owner Dave Sommers said he had been looking for a while to move into a location with a bigger dining room so the restaurant could expand its menu. Starting Thursday, Mad Mushroom will be offering items like panini, wraps, more salad options and even desserts.

"Our cheese sticks haven't changed, they're the exact same," Sommers said.  "Our original cheese stick is still there. We've kept everything from the old place, brought it here. We've added more to it. We're very excited. We're here in the heart of campus. We're excited to do more involvement with the community."

A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m.
