ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) - The Mayor of Attica hired a new chief of police.

Robert Brewer will be the new chief for the Attica Police Department.

Brewer started his law enforcement career working as a police officer for the city of Lafayette.

From there he continued his career in law enforcement working for the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department for 14 years, until he recently retired.

Brewer said he's looking forward to this next chapter and new challenges, and said he's thrilled to be serving the residents of Attica.

"I'm excited to get started," Robert Brewer said. "It's a great community and I'm very honored and I'm looking forward to working for the people here."

Brewer will start as the new chief of police Monday.
