WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Two Purdue students were left looking for a new place to live after their home caught fire Wednesday evening.

It happened around 5 p.m. on Stadium Avenue in West Lafayette.

Firefighters said when crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames. They had the fire under control in about half an hour.

Crews said the Red Cross and the Purdue Dean's office were working to help the students find alternative housing.  No one was injured and no nearby homes had to be evacuated.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
