LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) - A new state-of-the-art movie theater in Logansport is scheduled to open just in time for the summer blockbuster season.

The new Mary Max theater will feature five digital projection screens and more than 600 recliner-like seats.

While the company is new to the movie theater business, its main partner has helped construct many of the Great Escape theaters in southern Indiana.

Organizers say the Logansport theater will be the first of many theaters to come.
Richard Dieffenback/ General Manager

“We are excited to be in the Logansport community and want everyone to have a good time once we open,” General Manager Richard Dieffenback said. “It's been shown that people will travel some distance to go to a brand-new, modern theater and I think people will enjoy the product that we have.”

Construction on the theater has been affected due to some weather issues, but builders say they believe the theater will open sometime this spring.
