MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - White County residents get an opportunity to meet one on one with law enforcement.

Monticello police, along with the Sheriff's office and State Police, joined residents for a Coffee with a Cop event Wednesday morning.

The goal is to help bridge the gap in communication between citizens and officers and learn how to expand that communication.

“I think it proves to them that we are concerned about what they think and concerned for their safety of the citizens not just in Monticello but in White County and the state of Indiana. That's kind of our goal. Just to get out and listen to them and talk about what they want to talk about,” said Jerry Holeman of the Monticello Police Department.

Monticello police set to host a Posse with a Cop October 24 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Kinser's Bakery in downtown Monticello.
