WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A man is dead after a crash in White County.
It happened around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon near the intersection of County Road 300 East and U.S. 24.
White County Sheriff's deputies said a pickup truck driven by Barry Kindle, 52, of Monticello was headed east on 24 when, for an unknown reason, the truck crossed into the other lane and hit a semi head-on.
Kindle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, Charles Dial, 57, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, was taken to IU Health White Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Dial has since been released.
U.S. 24 was closed for nearly five hours while crews cleared the scene.
Deputies said it is unclear at this time if drugs, alcohol, or speed were factors in the crash. Toxicology results are pending.
