ISP drug lab team investigates fire

MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - The White County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police Drug lab team are investigating a house fire that occurred in Monticello just after midnight Saturday.

Officials with the Monticello Fire Department said they arrived on the scene and saw signs of an explosion.

Firefighters said they entered the residence and found the bathroom and attic on fire. Fire officials said A 46-year-old man was in the house at the time and was critically burned.

Firefighters said he was transported to IU Health White Memorial Hospital and was then air lifted to a hospital in Indianapolis.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
