LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Two men were arrested late Saturday evening after police found remnants of a once-active methamphetamine lab in an apartment and a car.

The Lafayette Police Department received a complaint Saturday evening of a strong chemical odor coming from an apartment located at 2209 Banstead Court in Lafayette.

Once at the apartment, police confirmed the odor and obtained a search warrant for the residence and the tenant’s vehicle.

Police then discovered the remnants of a once-active methamphetamine lab, along with numerous precursors.

The tenant of the residence, David Reeve III of Lafayette, was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of precursors, Maintaining Common a Nuisance and False Informing.

William Parks, of Lafayette, was also arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of precursors and Visiting Common a Nuisance.

Both are being held in the Tippecanoe County Jail with a $50,000 bond.

The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was also notified and the residence and vehicle were cleaned of the hazardous materials.

\There were no injuries to citizens, officers or suspects.
