WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Three children are in the custody of the White County Department of Children and Family Services, after officers said they were found in a residence with an active meth lab inside.

On Friday, troopers with the Indiana State Police were advised by a local retail store in Lafayette of articles purchased that are used to make meth.

Upon further investigation, troopers located an active meth lab at 2176 W. County Road 450 South in White County near Wolcott.

Troopers said they found three adults and three children inside the house at the time. While troopers were conducting the investigation, two more adults entered the home.

All five of the adults were taken into custody and transported to the White County Jail.

Those arrested were 42-year-old Merle Queen of Wolcott, 38-year-old Jason Storms of Lafayette, 42-year-old Jeff Roberts of Frankfort, 35-year-old Jennifer Parks of Wolcott, and 49-year-old Karen Faye Sherer of Brookston.
