Man arrested for possible OWI after crash

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A man is arrested Saturday afternoon for a possible OWI, after he U-turned and hit another car.

Deputies said a white Cadillac was traveling eastbound on U.S. 52, when a green truck pulled a U-turn and hit the Cadillac.

Deputy Sheriff Jon Lendermon said the truck flipped onto its side, but the driver was not injured. The driver of the Cadillac, however, was taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital with minor injuries.

Lendermon said he sees people pulling U-turns a lot and said while they are legal in designated areas, he wants people to be careful when turning around.

"In this situation, had the driver of the truck made a left-hand turn, pulled into a parking lot here and made a safe U-turn in a parking lot, he could have actually avoided this collision," said Lendermon.

Lendermon said the crash remains under investigation
