LPD swears in two new officers

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Lafayette Police Department swears in two new officers.

Friday morning, Mayor Tony Roswarski and the Lafayette Police Department swore in Adam Ransom and Michael Zambon during a special ceremony.

Ransom is 24-years-old and was born and raised in the Greater Lafayette area. He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement academy and said he's always had a passion for law enforcement.

Zambon is from California but went to college in Indiana where he received degrees in both psychology and criminal justice.

He said after he rode along with a police officer, he found his passion for criminal justice.

Both Ransom and Zambon said they're ready to hit the ground running but know they'll face many challenges along the way.

"It's my passion. It's what I want to do the rest of my life and this is actually where I wanted to be all along and this is where I want to stay the rest of my career," Adam Ransom said.

"Just different scenarios that you run into as an officer. Just dealing with people during the worst times and the best times, it's going to be different each time," Michael Zambon said.

Both men start the new job Monday.
