TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A crash involving a Lafayette police car brought traffic to a stop Monday night on State Road 43 in Tippecanoe County.

The wreck happened near I-65 around 4 p.m.

Sergeant John Ricks with the Tippecanoe Sheriff's Office says a car headed south on 43 attempted to turn left to get onto the interstate.

Ricks says the driver, 28-year-old Heather Mock of Delphi, failed to yield to a police officer driving north on 43.

The officer was transported to the hospital for a wrist injury.

Mock was not injured, but was cited for failure to yield and not having insurance.

One side of 43 was closed for nearly an hour while crews cleared the scene.
