WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A nearly sold-out crowd packed Elliott Hall of Music to get in on one of TV's most famous game shows this weekend.
The Price is Right Live Tour stopped in West Lafayette Sunday.
Even though the show wasn't televised, the normal “Price is Right” enthusiasm was still there.
The show has been on the air for 40 years. But famous hosts Bob Barker and Drew Carey weren't there. And it wasn't televised.
“The host is Emmy Award winning Todd Newton,” Purdue Convocations Director of Marketing Abby Eddy said. “He's actually on Tour with the Price is Right Live. Audience members can still expect to win some of the same great prizes they would have on the televised version.”
Some of those prizes included $2,500 and state of the art appliances.
Although the audience wasn't in the Los Angeles studio, nearly 3,300 people came out for the event.
Audience members not only won some of the same prizes as the televised version, but they also got to play some of the famous games.
Eddy says The Price is Right Live is the first game show at Elliott Hall of Music. She hopes it will return to the convocations line up in a few years.
“There are a lot of people who came in costume, and their own T-shirts,” Eddy said. “So it was fun to hear stories of people and how excited they were.”
