WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A dancing competition took center stage at the Purdue Memorial Union.
More than 400 hundred dancers from Universities all over the
Midwest came together for the 12th annual Purdue Ballroom
Classic. Purdue Latin & Ballroom Dance Club President
Josef Conner said the competition is one of the biggest in the
Midwest.
"It's just become more of a mainstream thing nowadays.
With shows like Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can
Dance, dancing has really sky rocketed. Not only do we
have a lot of competitors, we have a lot more people coming to
watch the competition too," said Conner.
The Purdue Ballroom Classic continues until midnight Saturday. It's located at Purdue Memorial Union's south ballroom. The event is open to the public.
