WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - After a wet Feast of the Hunter's moon, volunteers have minimized the impact the rain and mud had on Fort Ouiatenon and the property.
The Tippecanoe County Park board met with the Tippecanoe County Historical Association members to discuss the condition the grounds. Volunteers from the Tippecanoe County Historical Association and from the Purdue Crew team cleaned up after the feast the following week.
Parks Director Allen Nail says clean up is tricky after a rainy weekend.
"When you are holding an event with that magnitude of number of people and vehicles and you are in flood plains and it rains, that is the nature of it," Nail said. "It isn't anything we haven't seen before. You sit down and evaluate what went well and what are the areas that we can make some changes and help things go a little better in the future."
The Historical Association will hold another meeting Wednesday, November 4, 2009 that Park and Recreation board members will attend to discuss the wrap up of the Feast on their end.
