WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Much of West Lafayette lost power this afternoon.
Three stoplights were affected by the outage, as well as 5,600 business and residential Duke Energy customers, including Harrison High School.
Duke Energy spokesperson Angeline Protogere attributed major outage to a very humble cause: she said a squirrel interfered with equipment at a power substation and caused the outage.
The outage began just before 11:30 a.m.
Crews were dispatched to the area and were able to restores power about 45 minutes later.
