LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Police are still investigating a shooting at a Lafayette apartment complex.
A Lafayette man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest following an argument at the Emerald Pines Apartment complex near the intersection of McCarty and Creasy lanes on the city's east side.
Tippecanoe County Sheriff Tracy Brown said dispatch received a call of shots fired around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. He said the shooting happened after an argument and forced entry into an apartment.
After the shooting 24-year-old William Shawn Wise of Lafayette went to the emergency room at Home Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. He is being treated at Home Hospital. He was listed in critical condition as of 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.
Brown said at least three others were involved in the altercation, but no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department said shots were fired at the Emerald Pines apartment complex.
The complex is located on McCarty Lane in Lafayette.
Lafayette Police and the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department responded.
