LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A local church is giving back to the community by selling pumpkins.
The Great Pumpkin Patch of Congress Street United Methodist Church has more than 2,500 pumpkins on sale of all shapes, sizes, and colors.
Proceeds from every sale benefit the YWCA Domestic Violence Fund, Trinity Mission, and other local food pantries.
Also on sale are gourds, dried fruit and nuts, cookies, breads, and fall decorations.
Organizer Patsy Krieg said it's nice to give back to the community.
"We have always been a mission church, and it's just nice to do local mission work and in this day and age everyone needs a little bit of help so we're just happy to do our part," said Krieg.
The church is also holding a pancake breakfast next Saturday, October 10th from 7:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. The breakfast will be followed by a kids activity day at the pumpkin patch that runs from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
The Congress Street United Methodist Church is located at 2010 Congress Street in Lafayette.
