LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A movie screening raised money for Jubilee Christmas.

Trinity United Methodist Church in Lafayette showed "By Dawn's Early Light" Sunday in honor of Veteran's Day.

Trinity's Education Coordinator, Jennifer Gray, said the event was conceived by third, fourth, and fifth-graders at the church.

"They worked very hard," said Gray.  "They did all the publicity, and they decided they wanted to tie it in with Veteran's Day to honor our veterans this week."

During the evening, donations were collected for Jubilee Christmas, a program which provides food and gifts for needy families during the holidays.

"I just think it's pretty cool that we can be helping kids around the community," said John Patrick Garcia, one of the children who helped organize the movie night.
