LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A new Latino-Hispanic commission chairperson is serving the Lafayette community.
Mayor Tony Roswarski appointed Joel Munoz to the position today.
Munoz is an Attica High School Spanish teacher.
Roswarski said the commission has been dormant for about a year when Munoz showed interest in being a part of it.
"And so while he was here talking about being in the
commission I gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. And that was to
see if he had some interest in taking over," said Roswarski.
"A couple of goals that we have are kind of maybe outreach a little to the community. Look at possibly some plans in working with the Hispanic community and maybe educating people," said Munoz.
