Head-on crash sends two to hospital

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A head-on-collision involving alcohol sent two Lafayette men to the hospital.

The crash happened at approximately 10:00 p.m. Wednesday on Teal Road, between 26th and 30th Streets.

Lafayette Police say 23-year-old Cesar Hernandez-Gonzalez of Lafayette was driving west on Teal Road when he crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with another car driven by 19-year-old Cameron Reid of Lafayette.

Both men were taken to Home Hospital, where Hernandez-Gonzalez is currently listed in serious condition. Reid's condition is not being released at this time.

Charges were filed against Hernandez-Gonzalez, including Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Driving While Suspended.

Police ask anyone who saw the crash or has information about the incident to call Officer Tim Bonner at (765) 807-1292.
