The Tippecanoe County Council continued their massive budget cuts. If their goal is reached, more than $3 million dollars will get cut from the proposed budget.
At Tuesday's County Council meeting, budget recommendations were approved for the towns of Battle Ground and Shadeland. CityBus also had its budget approved.
Recommended budgets for the Tippecanoe County Public Library and the West Lafayette Library got the go ahead.
County Council President Kevin Underwood said even with all the cuts that have been made already, more than $700,000 still needs to be axed.
"We've still got a couple of big things we kind of have in our minds that I think we can do and, in terms of some monies that we may not end up spending in our '09 budget that we could go ahead and transfer in 2010 and pay some expenses which will help us out," said Tippecanoe County Council President Kevin Underwood.
The next budget meeting is slated for September 17 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at the Tippecanoe County Office Building.
