FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - A Frankfort man is in custody after attempting to rob an antique store. Police say the incident happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
Police were called to a reported burglary in progress at Creekside Antiques in Frankfort.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Blake Seals of Frankfort.
Police said when they got to the scene, Seals claimed to have a gun. Police backed away and called for additional officers from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and Boone County SWAT.
An officer with the Frankfort Police made cell phone contact with the Seals, but Seals ended the call. Before the SWAT team arrived, Seals surrendered to officers on the scene. Seals is facing preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, pointing a firearm, and public intoxication.
Seals was taken to Clinton County St. Vincent Hospital for injuries sustained in the initial break-in of the building.
Officer Aaron Atkisson with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office said Seals is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at an area hospital. No shots were fired during the incident and no other injuries were reported.
