TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Some Greater Lafayette homes now display a mark of distinction.
The Wabash Valley Trust presented Sycamore Leaf Preservation plaques to two home owners. 851 Rose Street in West Lafayette and 412 South Ninth Street in Lafayette received the award.
The Lafayette home is in the Renaissance Revival style.
The West Lafayette home was built with sheet metal panel construction. Owners Art and Mary Ann Remnet said they want to preserve the historical character of the home.
"Being able to save the part of history is just so much more meaningful then living in the homes built today. These are built to last and they do," said Mary Ann.
233 homes in Tippecanoe County have the Sycamore Leaf designation.
