LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Little Bird Lane Children's Consignment Event begins Thursday, March 14, and lasts through Saturday, March 16. The consignment sale will be held at the Tippecanoe Co. Fairgrounds.
Christina and Joshua Wright said they got the idea for a local consignment sale after getting tired of driving to Indianapolis to save money on clothing their daughter, Wren. Using their daughter's name as inspiration, the idea for "Little Bird Lane" was born.
Ahead of the sale, local parents were able to get their gently used items together and hopefully earn some money back from selling those items to other parents. Children grow out of clothes so quickly, Christina explained, this is a great way to shop and save some money in the process.
"Because I'm a shop-a-holic!" Wright joked.
This is the second consignment event for Little Bird Lane. The Wrights previously put on a similar event last fall at Market Square. This time, the sale was moved to the fairgrounds to accommodate more crowds, provide an easy location for shoppers to find and the larger space will give the event room to grow.
The Little Bird Lane Consignment Event runs Thursday and Friday, March 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The sale picks back up on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Items will be half-off on Saturday. Sellers with items not sold can donate them to charity, the Matrix Pregnancy Resource Center of Lafayette, following the sale.
Little Bird Lane is working with Matrix by holding a diaper drop-off where shoppers can donate extra diapers. More information on Little Bird Lane is posted on its website.
