Library sale shows real books never go out of style

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - On these cold, dreary days there is nothing like curling up with a good book. But what about an entire bagful?

Friends of the Tippecanoe County Library held its annual spring book sale this week.

The sale lasted all weekend through Monday afternoon. Everything from novels to how-to manuals were snatched up by bookworms hoping to give them a new home a place on their shelf.

The Friends of the Library says money from the sale goes toward, among other things, new equipment and reading programs.

Sale Co-Chair Suzanne Cunningham says reading real books will never go out of style.

"I think people love to read (things) made out of paper, and not just the electronic devices,” Cunningham said. “Books for children, books for younger adults, books for older adults like myself. I like to turn the pages and I think a lot of people do. You can tell by this room.”

Monday was $2 bag day. That means if you could fit any number of books in a grocery bag then it was just $2 total. The library's next sale is in June.
