LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette Fire Department SUV on the way to an emergency was involved in a wreck Thursday near downtown.

Crash investigators with the police department said it all happened just after 5 p.m at the intersection of 9th and Main streets.

Officers said an SUV with the fire department on the way to an emergency call had slowed down at the intersection, but still clipped the back of a gray SUV, sending that car into a light pole.

The fire department SUV had minor front end damage.

The female driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.

No tickets were issued to either driver.
