LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Area business leaders gathered to discuss the impact of immigration in the region.

The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce hosted a special breakfast Tuesday morning in West Lafayette to talk about how immigration affects economic competition.

"The Chicago Council on Global Affairs," along with a panel, shared important information on the issue.

Spokeswoman Juliana Kerr Viohl said immigration continues to affect many parts of American life.

“Immigration is an issue that hasn't been resolved,” Viohl said. “It's been very controversial but it has a huge impact on our economy and we have to get it right. Our country cannot just afford to not make changes in our system and make it work in our country.”

Organizers hope today's dialogue will help business leaders develop solutions in the future.
